Laura Helen Smith

Laura Helen Smith, daughter of the late Floyd and Ella (Ruessler) Brotherton was born on April 27, 1941 in Old Appleton, Missouri and departed her life on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at the Chateau Girardeau Nursing Home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 82.

Mrs. Smith loved quilting, puzzle books, dancing, watching westerns, planting flowers and sitting on a porch swing and playing cards with friends. The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff at Chateau Girardeau and the nurses at Crown Hospice for their exceptional care.

She is survived by three sons: Tim (Jane Kensel) Smith, David (Rene) Smith, Scott (Connie) Smith; seven grandchildren: Brooke Olney, Cari Hearn, Becky Meadows, Tori Smith, Alex Smith, Trevor Smith, and Ashtin Smith; and eight great-grandchildren.

Apart from her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter: Tamra Moore; one grandson: Dru Holder; four brothers and four sisters:
