Laree Faye Jones

LaRee Jones, daughter of the late Roy Lee Wilhite and Mildred Young Wilhite was born on December 11, 1944 in McGee, Missouri and departed her life on Thursday, May 19, 2022 in the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 77 years.

She was a 1963 graduate of Chaffee High School and former employee for Rice Insurance Company for 12 years before joining her husband on the Jones Family Farm.  LaRee was a member of Cape First and was devoted to her Bible study and church family.  She was also very devoted to the family farm and being a “Grammy”, her grandchildren were the love of her life.

On February 23, 1974 she was united in marriage to John Robert Jones in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  Mr. Jones survives of the home in Oran.

Besides her husband, survivors include one son, Justin (Heather) Jones of Oran; one daughter, Teresa (Ryan) McKee of Painton, Missouri; three brothers, Steve Wilhite of Morley, Ronnie Wilhite of Rockview, and Bob Wilhite of Chaffee; by two sisters, Berta Lauback of Benton and Shari Austin of Chaffee; also, by five grandchildren, Colby McKee, Cooper McKee, Jacob Jones, Parker Jones, and Emma Jones.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022 from 10:00 until 1:00 at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.  Funeral services will then be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Monday.  Interment will follow in the Williams Cemetery in Perkins, Missouri with Rev. Gary Brothers officiating.

Family request in lieu of flowers memorial be made to American Cancer Society.  Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
