Lanny Keith “Chief” Koch, son of the late Marion Corbert Koch and Katherine (Miller) Koch was born May 12, 1945 in Cape Girardeau, MO and departed this life on December 2, 2020 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO at the age of 75 years.
Mr. Koch proudly served in U.S. Navy aboard the USS Ticonderoga. Lanny was the owner/operator of Girardeau Stevedores and Contractors, Inc in Scott City, MO.
On January 27, 1965 he married Marilyn Eftink at the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, MO. She survives
Also surviving are six sons: Robert Koch of Chaffee, MO, Kent (Tonya) Koch of Whitewater, MO, Paul (Amy) Koch of Kelso, MO, John (Martha) Koch of Chaffee, MO, Martin (Lindsey) Koch of Arbor, MO, Terry (Jessica) Koch of Scott City; two brothers: Joe (Jeana) Koch of Cape Girardeau, MO, Bill (Libby) Koch of Scott City, MO; two sisters: Judy (Kenny) Foeste of Cape Girardeau, MO, Angie (Rob) Sample of Scott City, MO; seventeen grandchildren: Kendall, Brittany, Logan, Stephanie, Colten, Jake, Paige, Jaci, Lindsey, Bethany, Scott, Kinley, Jaxon, Olivia, Cole, Molly, Zach; and fifteen great-grandchildren: Langston, McCoy, Linnie, Georgie, Janie, Ted, Korbin, Kolbie, Emitt, Ezra, Elliot, Alec, Elias, Bentley, and Wyatt.
Besides his parents, Mr. Koch was preceded in death by one son: Kirt William Koch, two daughter-in-laws: Jamie and Debbie Koch.
