Kenneth Bess, son of the late Earnest Chester and Mickey (Cook) Bess was born on August 14, 1948 in Brownwood, Missouri and departed his life on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at the Campbell Health Care and Senior Living in Campbell, Missouri at the age of 76. On February 14, 1969 he was united in marriage to Ruth Henson in Essex, Missouri. She survives of the home in Bloomfield. He served in the United States Army from May 1969 until December 1970 serving as an artillerist. Basic training was at Fort Lenord Wood, Missouri near Rolla and Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He was then transferred over seas to Seoul Korea where he spent an extended time and was honorable discharged in December 1970 as a E-5 Sargent. Besides his wife, survivors include three sons, Paul Bess of Dexter, Rodney (Misty) Bess of Dexter, and Keith (Emily) Bess of Advance, Missouri; four grandchildren, Caleb Bess, Cassie Bess, Makenna Bess, and Lily Bess; one brother, Don (Gale) Bess of Dexter; four sisters, Bonnie (Leon) Jaco of Marble Hill, Missouri, Janet (Ricky Joe) Bracken of Bloomfield, Brenda (Tony) O’Connell of Dexter; and Shelia Bess of Dexter; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephew, also, by other relatives and friends. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jane Bess and Betty Whitley; also, by one brother, Jackie Bess. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 9:30 until 11:00 AM at the Chiles-Cooper/ Watkins and Sons Funeral Services in Bloomfield, Missouri. Funeral services will then be conducted on Wednesday, at 11:00 AM with Terry Berry officiating. Interment will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery in Bloomfield.
