Jose Cruz Mendoza

Jose Cruz Mendoza, son of the late Jesus and Maria Mendoza was born on February 16, 1956 in Mexicali, Mexico and departed his life on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at his residence in Scott City, Missouri at the age of 68 years.

He was a former Truck Driver for several years and retired as a machine operator with Rubbermaid Manufacturing.

On June 29, 1971 he was united in marriage to Maria Beccera in Mexicali, Mexico.  Mrs. Cruz Mendoza survives of the home in Scott City.

Besides his wife, survivors include three daughters, Veronica Cruz of San Bernardino, California, Claudia Aguirre and Jo Ann Barajas both of Scott City; seven grandchildren, Angela, Diana, Eddie, Steve, Jasmine, Jesus Jr. III, and Nadine; fifteen great-grandchildren; four brothers, Jesus, Omar, Miguel, and Hermes Cruz; five sisters, Frances Christerna, Elizabeth, Adriana, Nora, and Nancy Cruz.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, one sister, one grandson, Jose.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 10:00 until 1:00 at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City.  Funeral services will then be conducted at 1:00 with Rev. Randy Morse officiating.  Interment will follow in the Lightner Cemetery.
