John Edward Walker Sr., was born June 10,1936 to the late John Perry and Frances Kennedy Walker in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and departed this life on November 21, 2020 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
On April 26, 1965 he married Gwendolyn Sue Edmonds in Chaffee, Missouri. She preceded him in death on June 7, 2014.
He served his county as a marine (4 years) and served in the Korean War. He was a conductor for the BNSF Railroad for 30 years. He attended church at the House of Prayer in Chaffee.
He is survived by seven children: Brenda (Stanton) Anderson of Kelso, Missouri; John “Boy” (Jeannie) Walker, Lesia (David) Glastetter and Tina (Lee) Horton all of Chaffee; Angela (Toby) Zoellner of Perryville, Missouri; Cecile (Mat) Schober of Glenallen, Missouri; Kimberly Boese of Chaffee; a brother, Charles (Tom) Walker of California; 22 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Apart from his parents and his wife, he was also proceeded in death by one son: Glen A. Bentley, and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Funeral Service will follow on Wednesday at 11:00 am at the with Rev. Travis Hendrix and Rev. Joe Carpenter officiating. There will be a private family burial on Monday November 30,2020 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
