John Joseph Leroux of Jackson, MO lost his courageous 12 year battle with cancer on June 1st, 2022, with his loving wife by his side. John was born March 17, 1964 to Jearl Leroux and Fayrene Leroux Cope. He is survived by his loving wife, Anna, a son Jearl Yarbro, his beloved fur baby Mac, his brother Robert (Janae) Leroux, his loving in-laws Robert and Rosemary Bailey. John also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and family of the heart who were blessed with his love and laughter.
John was a graduate of Doniphan High School in 1982. He married the love of his life Anna Bailey on January 16, 1993 and they were blessed to spend 29 amazing years together. From that life, John and Anna had three angel babies, whom they loved very much and blessed fur babies over the years. They wanted children in their lives and did so by spoiling many around them. Later, after working a myriad of jobs, John found his perfect career as a Jackson R-2 school bus driver. This career brought him great joy. He loved the kids and interacting with them every day. John and Anna worked hours to make treat bags for holidays, check in with students to make sure things were okay and to provide “his” kiddos with safe transport to and from school. John was a true champion for kids.
John never really grew up completely, and was a Trekkie Nerd, loved cars (especially Mustangs), guns, loud music of which he was an expert at trivia. Although he failed to properly educate his lovely wife about Disco…he did not partake in that genre of music, he did love the band Queen which made up for it.
He was a proud man, funny, smart and loved those around him fiercely. He had a big laugh that could fill a room and a heart that was even larger. He had room for so many in that heart, but especially the kids at Jackson school. John had each of them implanted on his heart. John Leroux will be deeply missed smiling each morning and afternoon as the bus door opens.
John was preceded in death by his 3 beautiful babies: Meagen Leroux, Tanner Leroux and Konner Leroux, his father Jearl Leroux, mother Fayrene Leroux Cope, and his brother Jerry Leroux.
There will be no service, but a Celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date. The family requests no flowers, but if donations are an interest, please make them to The Southeast Missouri Humane Society in his honor.
