John S. Hurley

John Hurley, son of the late George Riley Hurley and Hattie Ellen King was born on November 10, 1935 in Portageville, Missouri and departed this life on Sunday, January 19, 2020 in Bloomfield, Missouri at the age of 84 years.

Mr. Hurley was a former employee of the National Marines River Boat, a member of the Seventh Day House of Prayer in Bono, Arkansas Church, and a resident of Bloomfield, Missouri.

Survivors include two sons, Keith Hurley of Bloomfield, and Kevin Hurley of Dyer, Tennessee; two daughters, Mandy Clary of Bloomfield, and Sheila Metcalf of Bell City; one brother, William Hurley of Bonne Terre, Missouri; one sister, Mary Tiger of Stroud, Oklahoma; twenty-three grandchildren and thirty-two great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife Hazel Hinkley Hurley and parents, he was preceded in death one son, Kenneth Hurley; one daughter, Glenda Floyd; eight brothers and six sisters.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 until 2:00 on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Dexter. Funeral services will then be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday with Rev. Dale Holman officiating. Interment will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bell City.
