Jim “Jimmy Paul” Pate, son to the late James Paul, Sr. and Bernice Brewer Pate was born on June 8, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri and departed this life on January 26, 2023 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 80 years.
On October 15, 1983 he married Debbie Kaye Bain and she survives of the home in Benton, Missouri.
He was a truck driver for Genesis Trucking. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. Jim was a steel guitar player with Lou Hobbs: Bill Holloman Band and Country 105, as well as several other local bands.
Besides his wife, Debbie, he is survived by a daughter, Bessie Henderson of Olive Branch, Illinois; a stepdaughter, Amie (Adam) Blanchard of St. Charles, Missouri; two sisters, Norma (Mike) Webb of Fancy Farm, Kentucky and Barbara Pinkley of St. Louis, Missouri, also surviving are seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie Pate and Billy Pate.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 31 from 10:30 – Noon at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Funeral service will be conducted at noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jack Hargraves as officiant. Burial will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to: Humane Society of Southeast Missouri.
