Jerry Dale Peters

Jerry Peters, son of the late John Albert Peters and Mabel Ann (Woods) Peters was born on September 15, 1946 in Sikeston, Missouri and departed his life on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at his residence in Benton, Missouri at the age 76 years.

He was a graduate of Charleston High School and Draughon Drafting College.  Mr. Peters was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in Germany as a Private Truck Driver. After rendering his service in the Army, Jerry was a former truckdriver for 20 years before spending a majority of his career as a self-employed contractor and carpenter before his retirement in 2020.

In 1976 he was united in marriage to Patricia Gale Presswood in Hernando, Mississippi.  Mrs. Peters survivors of the home in Benton.

Besides his wife, other survivors include two daughters, Stephanie Peters of Benton and Shannon (Landon) LeGrand also of Benton; by his five grandchildren which was the pride and joy of his life; Raven (Eli) Jackson, Heather (Tommy) Bridges, Jerret (Kaelyn) Nicoson, Brooklyn LeGrand, and Jaxson Riley; by five great-grandchildren, Addilyn, Annistyn, Emmie, Ellie, and Evvie; also, by one great-grandson due in May of 2023; he is also survived by two brothers and two sisters.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, and three sisters.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. in the Unity Baptist Church in Benton, Missouri conducted by Rev. Dennis Lowe.  Interment will follow in the Unity Baptist Cemetery with a full military service.
