If there were revving engines, you’d know you could find Jeffrey “Beaker” Curnell with a smile on his face and a kid like excitement in his eye. A lover of machines that go fast & the smell of burning rubber, he’s owned several classics of his own. But none as classic as he, born September 2nd, 1960 (60), passing August 20, 2021.
Known as a lover, Beaker was a pillar in his community, supporting it with 32 years of service as an EMT for North Scott County Ambulance. He touched more lives than we can imagine with his humor, compassion, and kindness. To know him was to love him. His battle with cancer took a lot of things from him like his love for dipping a loaf of bread a day in a glass of milk, but didn’t touch his sense of humor, passion for cars, and zest for life.
He loved God and his late wife Tricia Curnell who attended the First Baptist Church in Scott City. He will be missed by his sister Barb Herndon (Sam); nieces Alaina Hucke (Dave) and Kyla Ressel (Matt); great niece & nephew, Ella & Logan Ressel; brother-in-law Tom (Tracey) Gilmer; nieces & nephews, Tommy, Timmy, and Taylor Gilmer, and Chelsea Brockmire; great nephews, Laythan Stone & Luke Brockmire.
To celebrate the life of Jeff Curnell, please join us at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City, MO. The viewing will be on Tues from 5P-8P; on Wednesday, viewing until the service
at 11AM
, Rev. Jeremy Sells officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
To help carry on his legacy of love for the community and service to those around him, in lieu of flowers, please send donations to @BeakersServantHeart on PayPal. This account will help bring up the next generation of baby nurses, medics, and EMTs of Southeast Missouri or support the needs of the local EMS community. Beaker would “soitenly” appreciate it.
