Emma Jean Simpson

Emma Jean Simpson of Scott City, Missouri, daughter of the late Robert Que and Blanche McBride was born October 25, 1936 in Texarkana, Arkansas and departed her life on Monday, February 7, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family at the age of 85 years.

Mrs. Simpson graduated from Arkansas High School in Texarkana, Arkansas where she was a Majorette in the marching band.

On April 6, 1958 she married Albert Earl Simpson in Texarkana. He survives.

She was co-partner with her husband in various business enterprises. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, decorating her home and taking care of her precious Molly. She was a long-time member of Illmo Baptist Church and a current member of Lynwood Baptist Church.

Apart from her husband she is survived by: one daughter: Dianna (Brian) Gibbs of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; two sons: Jeff (Barbie) Simpson, Keith (Teresa) Simpson both of Scott City, Missouri; four grandchildren: Lyndsey (Donnie) Wiley, Dylan (Kendra) Simpson both of Scott City, Missouri, Brooke (John) Schnurbusch, Mikah (Matt Woodcock) Simpson both of Columbia, Missouri; three great-grandchildren: Evie Wiley, Emma Wiley, Peyton Medlin; two brothers in laws: Harold Simpson and Robert (Violet) Simpson and many life-long friends.

The family will be forever grateful to all the nurses at Southeast Hospice and especially Mary Fowler the loving family friend that loved and cared for her during her final weeks.

Apart from her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Juanita Thomas and Anita Graf, one son in law: Brian Gibbs; one sister-in-law: Georgia Simpson.

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Funeral will follow at 2:00pm in the Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at the Lightner Cemetery in Scott City, Missouri.

In-lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis Tn. 38105.
