Jaynne Brown

Jaynne Brown, daughter of the late Thomas Waters and Laverta Henson Waters was born on September 25, 1936 in Diehlstadt, Missouri and departed her life on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the Fountainbleau Lodge Care Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 85 years.

She was owner and operator of Ed’s Bar in downtown Cape Girardeau for 35 years until her health issues caused her to close the business. Jaynne was a hard worker, who loved the Lord, her family, and friends and will be missed by all.

On April 1, 1955 she was united in marriage to Oral Delano Yancy. Mr. Yancy preceded her in death. She was then united in marriage to John Winslow Brown on June 1983. Mr. Brown also preceded her in death.

Survivors include one son, John Howard Yancy of Fort Pierce, Florida; one daughter, Janeene (Joe) Bates of Chaffee, Missouri; by four grandchildren, Brian Payne Jordon Yancy, Jonathan Yancy, and Patricia Boswell; by eleven great-grandchildren, Cody, Bailey, Emily, Holden, Alex, Teva, Avery, Lainey, Baylor, Sadie, and, Jack.

Besides her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, James David Yancy, by one grandson, Randy Payne II, three brothers, and five sisters.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 from 11:00 until 1:00 P.M. in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Funeral services will then be conducted on Friday at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Josh Boley officiating. Interment will follow in the Cape Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
