James Smith

James Michael Smith, 44 of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at this home. He was born May 28, 1976 in Cape Girardeau to Danny and Nadine Mary Steimle Smith.

He was a vault tech at Wilbert Vault Company in Jackson. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, Missouri; Eagle Scout, Wednesday night men’s bowling league in Cape where he bowled a perfect 300 game.  He was a certified Stihl technician.

He is survived by his parents, Danny and Nadine Smith of Cape Girardeau; a brother, William “BJ” (Heather) Smith of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Alexis (Travis) Matheney of East Prairie; five nieces and nephews, Gavin, Kaden, Elynn, Ayla Smith and Bobby Joe “BJ” Matheney.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Prayer service will be at 5:00 pm

Funeral mass will be at 10:00 am on Saturday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso with Rev. Michael Casteel as celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Kelso.
