James "Rick" Phillips

James "Rick" Phillips

James “Rick” Phillips, son of Katherine “Granny” Bacchus Phillips of Chaffee and the late Sherman Vick Phillips was born on January 20, 1950 in Elgin, Illinois and departed his life on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and the age of 74 years.

Rick was a former Welder with CTS for many years and a former employee of Heartland Supportive Living.  He was a member of the Powerhouse of God Church in East Prairie, Missouri and a resident of Benton, Missouri.

He was united in marriage to Tammy Singleton in 1991 at Benton, Missouri.  She survives of the home in Benton.

Besides his mother and wife, he is survived by one son, Kelly (Amy) Phillips of Oran; one daughter Cathryn (Mike) Gramlisch of Jackson; one brother, Rodney Phillips of Oran; sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren;

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by two sons, James Allen Phillips and Bobby Gene Phillips; one brother, Larry Phillips and by one sister, Pamela Melissa Pobst.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Oran.  Funeral services will then be conducted on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Jimmy Allen officiating.  Interment will follow at the Williams Cemetery in Perkins, Missouri.
