James Hunter, Jr.
James Hunter, Jr. son of the late James Hunter, Sr. and Mary Martin was born on April 21, 1944 in Missouri and departed this life on Monday, February 15, 2021 at his residence in Chaffee, Missouri at the age of 76 years.
Mr. Hunter a Veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Vietnam War, former Railroad Conductor for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway, and a member of the Chaffee Elks Lodge.
On November 29, 1974 he was united in marriage to Janice Hendrix in Chaffee. Mrs. Hunter preceded him in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Amanda Dooley of Chaffee and Laura Perdue of Australia; by three grandchildren, Olivia Horrell, Bryce Horrell, and Will Hunter also by one great-granddaughter Alleigha Findley.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter at infancy and by one sister.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 2:30 until 4:00 P.M. at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. An Elks service will the be conducted on Saturday at 4:00 P.M. in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
