James Marion Gibbons

James “Jim” Gibbons, 86, of Leopold, Missouri passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at his family home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on Dec. 9, 1931 in Delta, Missouri to the late Ira Richard and Mae Sarah Seabaugh Gibbons. He married Carolyn Verla Seabaugh on June 8, 1957 and she survives of the home.

Jim was a retired maintenance man for Frisco Railroad and Burlington Northern Railroad. He was of the Baptist faith. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by his loving wife Carolyn; a son, Ira (Crystal) Gibbons of Jackson; two daughters, Karen (June) Gibbons of Leopold and Kathy (Travis) Hendrix of Chaffee; two sisters, Thelma Beckett of Cape Girardeau and Irena “Renie” Brown of Watseka, Illinois; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Dean Gibbons; a brother, three sisters and a grandson, Joseph Scott Hendrix.

Friends may call after 4:00 pm on Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am on Saturday at the Chapel with Rev. Travis Hendrix officiating. Burial will be at Kenyon Cemetery in Delta.
