Harold J. Uelsmann

Harold Uelsmann, son of the late Harry Uelsmann and Erma (Held) Uelsmann was born on February 6, 1935 in Scott City, Missouri and departed his life on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at his home in Scott City at the age of 90 years.

He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving as an expert sharp shooter and Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Uelsmann was a former manager with Rhodes Oil Company. Harold was also the former Public Works Director of Scott City and served on the board of directors for the Port Authority.

On January 6, 1961 he was united in marriage to Geneva Pauline Eaves at Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She survives of the home in Scott City.

Along with his wife, survivors include three sons, Rick (Dawn) Sample of Cape Girardeau, David (Vivian Kline) Uelsmann of Cape Girardeau, and Mike Uelsmann of Scott City; a brother, James Roy (Anita) Uelsmann; three grandchildren, Ben Sample, Luke Sample, and Yvette Renee (Andy) Miller; by two great grandchildren, Harrison Miller and Lennon Sample; also, by other relatives and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, David Andrew Uelsmann.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 11:00 until 1:00 at the Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City. Funeral services will then be conducted at 1:00 PM with Rev. Pfanstiel officiating. Interment will follow in the Eisleben Lutheran Cemetery.
