Gladys Anne Gaunce

Gladys Anne “Nanny” Gaunce passed from this earth on Wednesday, September 23 rd surrounded by her loving family. Gladys was born to Riley and Marie Batts on April 16, 1931 in Memphis, Tennessee. Known for her stylish flair she could always be found sporting her favorite hats and tie dye dresses. She had many passions which included plants, gardening, baking, listening to the birds sing their songs outside, crafting fabric dolls and drawing. She was a long time member of Christ Episcopal Church.

She is survived by her daughter Cynthia (Bruce) Watson and son David (Amy) Gaunce; her grandchildren John David Perry, Laurie Everett and Brooke Watson; as well as her great grandchildren Madison, Gavin, Fletcher, Chase, Cash and Kate.

Nanny was truly one of a kind and her tenacity and spunky attitude will be missed beyond belief. There will be a private family service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 101 N. Fountain St., Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.
