George Moit, Sr. son of the late William Moit and Arry Goins Moit was born on July 31, 1926 in Cape County, Missouri and departed this life on Friday, January 29, 2021 at his residence in Benton, Missouri at the age of 94 years.
Mr. Moit was a former railroad Conductor for Burlington Northern, of the Baptist faith, and a resident of Benton.
On March 14, 1945 he was united in marriage to the love of his life Betty Jane Lape. Mrs. Moit preceded him in death on October 1, 1992.
Survivors include one son, George B. Moit, Jr. of Benton, Missouri; by two daughters, Teresa Jackson of Hayti, Missouri and Patricia Jewel Carnell of Jackson, Missouri; by eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren; also, by other close relatives and many friends.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Carolyn sue Schaefer and Betty Sue Moit; by six brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 10:00 until 12:00 noon at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee. Funeral services will then be conducted on Wednesday at 12:00 noon with Rev. Donnie Ford officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Park Cemetery.
