Gene David Nation entered his heavenly home on Saturday, July 9, 2022. He was 77 years old and was the youngest son of Lily Florence Blankenship Nation and John Louis Nation of Illmo, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and four brothers.
Gene became a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in June 1966 and it was there that he married Margaret Trost on Aug. 6, 1966. They were blessed with 55 years together. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Jeanette Chapman (Cheri) and Debra Brown (Jim) and 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He is survived by three siblings, Paul Nation of Scott City, Richard Nation and Judy Enderle of Chaffee.
He was employed by Benny Wheeler, Ely Walker, Buckstein Factory and later retired after 32 years as a cutter with Thorngate Ltd. He enjoyed working on small engines, doing yard work and spending time with his family. He attended Men’s Cursillo #10 in 1981 that strengthened his walk with his beloved Savior Jesus Christ.
His visitation will be on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee from 4-7 pm with a prayer service at 5:00pm. The funeral mass will be on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 10 am at St. Ambrose Church in Chaffee, Missouri with Rev. Joseph Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Ambrose Cemetery in Chaffee, Missouri.
