Francis Glenn Vogel

Glenn Vogel, son of the late Francis Vogel and Juanita Riley Vogel was born on May 16, 1937 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and departed this life on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at his residence in Oran, Missouri at the age of 83 years.

Mr. Vogel was a former co-owner of T&H Grocery and employee of Halter Gas Company for several years. Glenn was a veteran of the United States Air Force, member of the Knights of Columbus, and Guardian Angel Catholic Church. He made many friends over the years especially Kirby Hahn who was also Glenn’s neighbor. Kirby was his guardian angel on earth.

On February 13, 1960 he was united in marriage to Janis Urhahn in Benton, Missouri. Mrs. Vogel survives of the home in Oran.

Besides his wife, survivors include one son, Brian (Jennifer) Vogel of Oran; one sister, Rosemary Bushko of Jefferson City, Missouri; one grandson, Robert Alan Penrose of Chaffee; three step-great-grandchildren, Brandon (Denae) Phillips, Brent (Rachel) Phillips, and Bethany (Billy) Kirkpatrick; by five step-grandchildren, Cash Lee Phillips, Colt Wayne Phillips, Lacy Kirkpatrick, Kyla Rains, and Wren Phillips; by one sister-in-law, Sonnie Bollinger and by one brother-in-law, Larry (Linda) Urhahn; by two nieces, , Laura Rockers, and Mary Bee Evan and by two nephews, Steven Bushko Cary Joe Bushko.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Taryn Ann Penrose; two brothers-in-law, Joe Bushko and Donald Lee Bollinger; also, by one nephew Michael Urhahn.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:30 P.M. Friday, October 9, 2020 at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Funeral Mass will be conducted at the Guardian Angel Catholic Church at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 10, 2020 with Father Joseph Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in the Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery in Oran with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations in Glenn’s name be sent to the Guardian Angel Catholic Church of School.
