Forrest “Red” Lynn

Forrest “Red” Lynn son of the late A.J. “Smokie” Lynn and Iva Jewel Whorton was born on October 28, 1947 in Oran, Missouri and departed this life on November 4, 2019 at the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 72.

Red was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War, was a former Engineer of Burlington Northern Railroad of 33 years, member of the First Baptist Church in Delta, Missouri, and a resident of Chaffee.

On February 16, 1973 he was united in marriage to Shirley JUNE Garner. Mrs. Lynn survives of the home in Chaffee.

Besides his wife, survivors include two sons, Roger David Gladwell (Kathy Hahn) of Chaffee and Jackie C. Gladwell (Billie Sue) of Sikeston; by two daughters, Kellie Engert (Mike) of Altenburg, Missouri and Kristie Yarbro (Jeremy) of Chaffee; one brother Steve Lynn (Judy) of Chaffee; by one sister, Kay Yant (Randy) of Sikeston; also by ten grandchildren, Nicki Gladwell, Jason Gladwell, Klay Gladwell, Sara Gladwell, Brock Engert, Korby Engert, Breven Yarbro, Blake Yarbro, Brooke Grubb, and Katoshia Grubb; and ten great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son Steven Lynn; by one brother, Jim Lynn and one sister Bonnie Brown.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Funeral services will be conducted in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. randy Conn officiating. Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
