Evelyn Braun

Evelyn Maria Braun, daughter of the late Lawrence and Amelia (Etter) Mirgaux was born January 16, 1926 in Illmo, Missouri and departed her life on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at her daughter’s residence in Scott City, Missouri at the age of 97 years.

On February 9, 1946 she married Louis Braun at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 9, 2022

She is survived by two daughters: Anita (Jim) Uelsmann of Benton, Missouri, Alice Braun of Scott City, Missouri; two sons: Michael (Rhonda) Braun of Scott City, Missouri, John (Donna) Braun of Scott City, Missouri; one brother-in-law :John (Lynell) Braun; two sisters-in-law: Shirley Manton, Billie Mirgaux; ten grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own.

Apart from her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: John Mirgaux, Fred Mirgaux, Lonnie Mirgaux; four sisters: Mary Mirgaux; Josephine Mirgaux-Petitt, Alvina Sandvos, Alma Sandvos, one son-in-law: Larry Dumey and one grandson: Darryl Dumey;

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023 from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M. at the Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City.  Funeral Mass will follow in church at 10:00am with Rev. Tom Wilk officiating. Interment will follow in the Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
