Emma A.Rhodes (nee Pinkston), 92, of Washington, Missouri formerly of Scott Ctiy, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at Grandview Healthcare Center.

Emma was born on January 30, 1927, in Fornfelt, Missouri (now Scott City, Missouri) to the late Lester James and Tessie May (nee Nolan) Pinkston and was united in marriage to Billy Ray Rhodes on October 9, 1947, at the Methodist Church in Fornfelt, Missouri.

Emma worked for the International Shoe Company in Cape Girardeau and St. Louis, and later Stix, Baer and Fuller Department Store.

Emma is survived by her husband, Billy Ray Rhodes of Washington; two sons, Keith Alan Rhodes of Washington and David Lee Rhodes of Southlake, Texas; five grandchildren, Jake Slade Rhodes of Washington, Pierre Roberto Eyre of Washington, Jill Nicole Wallace of McKinney, Texas, Jamie Leigh Rhodes of Southlake and Joshua Robert Ray Rhodes of Southlake; two sisters, Ruby Marion Heyes of Gillespie, Illinois and Betty Jackson of Salt Springs, Florida; two great grandchildren, Jayden David Wallace and Kylee Madison Wallace, both of McKinney, Texas; other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings, J.T., Tommy, Benny, Kenneth, Mildred, and Verna.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 21, 2109 at the Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
