Elizabeth Stubbs "Nana"

Elizabeth Stubbs "NANA", daughter of the late John Halter and Bertha (Lauck) Halter was born on January 20, 1937, in Chaffee, Missouri, and departed her life on Saturday, June 1, 2024, in the Chaffee Nursing Center at the age of 87 years.

She was a homemaker and member of the St. Ambrose Catholic Church her entire life. Ms. Stubbs was a member of the Daughters of St. Ambrose and enjoyed spending time with her family.

On June 29, 1957, she was united in marriage to Lynn F. Stubbs.  Mr.  Lynn Stubbs preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Edward Stubbs of Broussard, Louisiana and Russell Stubbs of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; by three daughters, Katherine Vandercook and Mary Foeste both of Chaffee and Nancy Stubbs of Benton; one sister, Anna Mae Smith of Ringgold, Georgia; by ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Albert, and William Halter; also, by three sisters, Cecelia Walton, Dorothy Dees, and Lorena Halter.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee.  Eucharistic Celebration will be on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 11:00AM in the St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Father Joseph Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.

Ms. Stubbs family would like to thank the entire staff at Chaffee Nursing Center for their kindness and compassion. Family request that memorials be made in honor of Elizabeth to the Alzheimer’s Association or the St. Ambrose Catholic School.
