Elisabeth Ottilie Gibbons

Elisabeth Gibbons, daughter to the late Johann and Anna Schepp Weihrauch was born on December 3, 1931 in Worms, Germany and departed this life on February 8, 2023 at her residence in Chaffee, Missouri at the age of 91 years.

She worked for ABB-Vetco as an Oil Drilling Rig Inspector until her retirement in 1997. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chaffee, a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary in Chaffee. Elisabeth loved to bowl and was a member of the Jackson Bowling league.

She is survived by two sons, Donald Gibbons, Jr. of Chaffee, Missouri; Larry (Sandy) Gibbons of Kelso, Missouri; a daughter, Elisabeth Ashley of Hazelhurst, Mississippi; three sisters, Anni Lugo, Hanni Strebel and Ilse Roppeneker all of Germany; ten grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by three daughters and a sister.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Wollenburg officiating. Burial will be at Kenyon Cemetery near Delta, Missouri.
