Edgar Parker, of Chaffee, Missouri was the son of the late Harold Parker and Lucille (Pape) Parker was born on July 26, 1942 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and departed his life on Monday, January 8, 2024 at the Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee at the age of 81. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Vietnam War. Mr. Parker was a former employee of Georgia-Pacific for many years until they closed and then went on to work for Rose Concrete in Scott City until his retirement. He was united in marriage to Norma Davis. Mrs. Parker survives of the home in Chaffee. Besides his wife, survivors include one daughter, Tabatha (Mike) Jones of Chaffee; one brother, Terry Parker of Jackson, Missouri; three sisters, Donna Macke of Granite City, Illinois and Peggy (Roland) Appleton of Bertrand, Missouri, and Libby (Bill) Koch of Kelso, Missouri; three grandchildren, Caitlin (Shane) Emmons of Cape Girardeau, Lindsy (Brandon) Shawver of Dyersburg, Tennessee, and Brett Keller of Chaffee; three great-grandchildren, Lennon Emmons and Rowan Emmons both of Cape Girardeau, and Joshua Hicks of Dyersburg, Tennessee; also, by other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister; and a daughter, Necole Parker. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 10:30 until 1:00 P.M. at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Fred Burgard officiating. Entombment will follow on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with full Military Honors.
