Doug August

Douglas Gene August, 80 of Scott City died Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at his home. He was born December 28, 1939 in Ancell, Missouri to Mason and Josephine Catherine Welter August. He married Velma Jane Krieger on March 14, 1961.

He was a conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad and was a member of the Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City. He was a veteran of the U.S Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Velma; a son, Trent (Patti) August of Scott City; two grandsons, Nicholas (Tammy) August and Mitchell (Aleshia) August and a great granddaughter, Aubrey August.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gregg August; a brother and three sisters.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am – 11:00 am on Friday at the Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday at the church.

Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers the family request donation to be sent to the Eisleben Lutheran Church or Alzheimer’s Association.
