Dortha "Dot" White

Dortha White, daughter of the late Charles August Baker and Joy (Shell) Baker was born on November 2, 1935 in Zalma, Missouri and passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at the Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee at the age of 89 years.

She was a former clerk at Florsheim Shoe Company and co-owner of Tim’s Food Mart in Oran.  Ms. White was a member of the Chaffee General Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

On September 5, 1959 she was united in marriage to Wayne Howell White in Chaffee.  Mr. White preceded her in death on January 14, 1996.

Survivors include one brother, Norman (Wanda) Baker of Franklin, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews; also, by other relatives and friends.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Wayne White; two brothers, Nolan Baker and Nelson Baker; by two sisters, Evoleen Francis and Imogene Waldroop.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 from 12:00 until 1:00 at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee.  Funeral services will then be conducted on Tuesday at 1:00 PM in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee with Rev. Bob Lewis officiating.  Interment will follow in the Union Park Cemetery.
