Dorothy Glastetter

Dorothy Elizabeth Glastetter, 91 of Scott City died Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  She was born May 7, 1931 in Leopold, Missouri to Gerhard and Anna Thiele Vandeven.  She married John Zeno Glastetter on January 17, 1953 and he preceded her in death on December 30, 2016.

She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso and Ladies Sodality.  She was a devoted wife, mother and grandma who loved gardening, quilting, yard sales and picking out pecans.

She is survived by two sons, Sam (Tina) Glastetter of Scott City and Jim (Laurie) Glastetter of Benton; two daughters, Diane Glastetter of Salem, Missouri and Mary (Donald) Baker of Scott City; grandchildren, Dawn, Brandon, Lindsey, Elizabeth, Sammie and Jamie and great grandchildren, Christopher, Justin, Jeremy, Evander and Julianne.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Michael Glastetter; a daughter, Carol Glastetter; a grandson, Matthew Glastetter and seven brother and sisters.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Parish Rosary will be at 6:00 pm.

Funeral mass will be at 10:00 am on Saturday at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso with Revs. Tom Wilk and . Bala Swamy Govindu as concelebrants.

Burial will be in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Kelso.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to St. Jude or Shriners Hospital.
