Dorothy Marie Brown
Dorothy Marie Brown, daughter of the late Herbert Peter and Clara (Glueck) Enderle was born on June 1, 1949 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and departed her life on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at her home in Jackson, Missouri at the age of 74 years.
On November 16, 1991 she was united in marriage to Paul Brown in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. They enjoyed 31 happy years together. Mr. Brown survives the home in Jackson.
For many years she enjoyed bowling with the Friday Night Bowlerettes where she served as the secretary/treasurer. Most of the time you could find her at the baseball field, the basketball court or the track cheering for her favorite athletes, her grandchildren. She loved the Jackson Indians and the Rolla Bulldogs. She was a Cardinal fan (even if they weren’t winning), and recently became a KC Chiefs fan. She enjoyed watching Hallmark movies, was an avid reader, and loved visiting the casino.
She was a former bookkeeper for Chateau Girardeau and BART Transportation in Cape Girardeau. Since she was someone who liked to stay busy, instead of retirement, Dorothy joined the staff of South Elementary in Jackson as a noon aide. She was also a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.
Besides her husband, survivors include three daughters, Gretchen (Devin) Lindsey of Rolla, Missouri, Leslie (J.R.) Watkins of Jackson, Missouri, and Trisha Brown of Mayfield, Kentucky; one son, John Hampton Brown of Jackson; two sisters Marilyn (Larry) Mott and Betty (Alvin) Vandeven all of Chaffee; four grandchildren, Chase Lindsey, Trent Lindsey, Landon Watkins, and Lilly Watkins and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Enderle and a nephew, Thomas Enderle.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Eucharistic Celebration will be conducted on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. in the St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee with Father Randy Tochtrop officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Ambrose Cemetery.
Family has requested that memorial contributions can be made to the St. Louis Children's Hospital or Jackson Baseball Club. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
