Donna Sue Daugherty

Donna Sue Daugherty, daughter of the late William Allen Houston and Margaret “Maggie” Hickey Houston was born on August 23, 1942 in Carthage, Missouri and departed her life on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at her residence in Chaffee, Missouri at the age of 79 years.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. in Chaffee. Mrs. Daugherty was a former employee of Famous Bar in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

On September 23, 1961 she was united in marriage to Clarence Daugherty. Mr. Daugherty preceded her in death on May 16, 2008.

Survivors include two sons, Claude (Rebecca) Daugherty of Booneville, Missouri and Paul (Memborly) Daugherty of Huntsville, Alabama; one daughter, Edie (Shannon) Steger of Chaffee; by eleven grandchildren, David Sexton Jr., Christopher Sexton, Houston Sexton, Bobby Dale Canady II, Vincent Daugherty, Pierce Daugherty, Thomas Daugherty, Rachel Daugherty, Lucas Daugherty, Robert Steger, and Margaret “Maggie” Daugherty; four step-grandchildren, Jennifer Steger, Cody Steger, Jerrod Steger, and Joshua Steger; also by six great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son at infancy, Timothy Allen Daugherty; one daughter at infancy, Mary Elizabeth Daugherty; by four brothers, Allen Houston, Douglas, Houston, Bud Houston, and Bobby Houston; also, by three sisters, Martha Decker, Peggy Long and Mary Houston.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2021 from 11:30 until 12:30 at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Graveside services will then be conducted on Saturday, January 29, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at the New Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Interment will follow.
