Donald Martin Sheeley

Donald Martin Sheeley of Chaffee, Mo, was born June 15, 1931 in Chaffee, MO and returned to God’s hands at the age of 89 at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau on Monday July, 6, 2020.

On May 15, 1956 he married Leeada Marie Mier in Chaffee. She preceded him in death on May 27, 2007.

Don served in the Navy, was a lifetime member of the VFW and worked bingo’s for many years. His hobbies included: fishing, hunting, casinos, and target shooting. He loved to watch every Cardinal baseball game, including a DVR of all games shown when he was away from home.

Mr. Sheeley is survived by two daughters: Cindy Gadberry of Chaffee, Sara Hemingway and husband Charlie of Chaffee; one son: Perry Sheeley of Cape Girardeau, MO; five grandchildren: Michelle Perkins, Megan Sheeley, Ian, Dean and Kirk Hemingway; and two great grandchildren: Zack and Jake Perkins.

He was preceded in death by four brothers: Glen, Frank, Charlie, and Paul Sheeley; one sister: Thelma Kinder; and one grandchild: Sammie Gadberry.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday,July 9th, at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, MO. Rosary service will begin at 5:00 PM with a  VFW Service following at 6:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Friday, July 10, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee, MO with Rev. Randy Tochtrop officiating. Burial will follow with full Military Honors at the St. Ambrose  Cemetery in Chaffee, MO.
