Dennis Thompson, Sr.

Dennis Wayne Thompson, Sr., 71 of Chaffee, Missouri died Friday, February 16, 2024 at his home.  He was born February 15, 1953 in Advance, Missouri to Lois Wilson and Deloris Ann Gendron Thompson.  He married Stephanie Gail Ladd on December 4, 1970.  She preceded him in death on September 2, 2008.

He was a truck driver for SEMO Ready Mix and a member of the Eagles Club in Cape Girardeau.

He is survived by a son, Denny (Shannon) Thompson of Scott City; a daughter, Tonya (Bobby) Schrum of Scott City; a sister, Sandy DeProw of Scott City; five grandchildren, Hailey, Myra and Macy Schrum and Aidan and Owen Thompson and his loving companion, Sue Jones of Chaffee.

He was also preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm on Tuesday, at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday at the chapel with Daniel Seabaugh officiating. .

Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
