Clinton James Hindman

Clinton James “CJ” Hindman, son to the late Cassius Clinton and Bertie Mae Bird Hindman was born on October 19, 1928 in Chaffee, Missouri and departed this life on May 24, 2020 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 91 years.

He was united in marriage to Dimple Mae Pirtle on August 28, 1948 and she survives.

He attended the Chaffee General Baptist Church in Chaffee, Missouri. He first worked for the C.C. Hindman Lumber Company, then as a driver for Holsum Bread, then Cape Ready Mix, and eventually was hired by the Frisco Railroad in September of 1956. He retired in 1990 from the Burlington Northern Railroad after 34 years of service.

He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Dimple Hindman; a son, Jim (Robyn) Hindman; a daughter, Vickie (Bill) Griffin all of Chaffee - three grandchildren, Lisa Lange (Steve Ruppel), Kara (Eric) Seyer, and Cassie Hindman – and three great-grandchildren, Karlee Seyer, Luke Seyer and Kaycee Seyer.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mollie Hindman.

There will be a private family visitation and service on Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Missouri followed by a private grave side service at Union Park Cemetery with Rev. Bob Lewis officiating.
