Cletus Robert Schmitt

Cletus Robert Schmitt, age 76, of Chaffee, MO passed away on Monday, September 7, 2020 at Cape Girardeau Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. Mr. Schmitt was born on March 24, 1944 in Chaffee, Mo to the late Linus and Maudie (Biby) Schmitt.

Mr. Schmitt proudly served as a Corporal in the Army.

He is survived by his brother: Donald Schmitt of Chaffee, MO; one nephew: Michael Schmitt of Chaffee; two nieces: Stephanie Palmer of Chaffee, MO, Candy Cannon of Corpus Christi, TX; and two aunts: Mearl Slack of Bardwell, KY and Lucille Schmitt of Chaffee, Mo.

Apart from his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Theon Schmitt.

Visitation will be on Wednesday September 9, 2020 at 5:00 pm starting with a Prayer Service and concluding at 8:00pm, in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Funeral will be on Thursday September 10, 2020 at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel in Chaffee with Rev. Joseph Kelly officiating.   Burial will follow with full military honors in the St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery.
