Christy Lea Naile Ellis

Christy Lea Naile Ellis, daughter of Charles Naile (Sandy) of Farmington, Missouri and Barbara Turner Criss (Robert) of Benton, Missouri, was born on October 18, 1975 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was a loving mother to Joseph Lee Ellis and departed this life on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at her residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 44.

On February 11, 2012 she was united in marriage to Joey Lee Ellis in Morley, Missouri.

Christy graduated from Kelly High School and went on to Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice. She furthered her education by completing her Master’s degree in Science/Administration of Justice and Security at the University of Phoenix. In addition, she was a member of the Unity Baptist Church in Benton.

Survivors include her husband, Joey Ellis; father and step-mother, Charles Naile (Sandy); mother and step-father, Barbara Turner Criss (Robert); son, Joseph Ellis of Benton, Missouri; three sisters, Kim Schlosser (Patrick) of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Tami Payne of McLeansboro, Illinois, and Holly Lauter (Dave) of St. Louis, Missouri; six nephews, two nieces, along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Tillman and Willie Turner; Aubrey and Helen Naile; and Earl and Alberta Criss.

Visitation will be conducted on Friday, July 10, 2020 from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton with the memorial service beginning at 2:00 P.M. Interment will follow in the Unity Baptist Church Cemetery.
