Charles Wade, Jr.

Charles Wade Jr. son of the late Charles Byron Wade Sr. and Cora Blaes Wade was born on June 24, 1923 in Oran, Missouri and departed this life on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at the Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Missouri at the age of 96 years.

Mr. Wade was a Veteran of the United State Air Force serving in World War II, and a former employee at Buckner Ragsdale Department Store in Cape Girardeau. Charlie loved music and played his trumpet with Pop Crites and the Noveliers for many years. He was a member of the St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton and a resident of Benton. Charlie was a proud husband and father with his fondest memories were time spent with them.

On November 10, 1947 he was united in marriage to Evangeline Wright. Mrs. Wade survives of the home in Benton.

Besides his wife, Evangeline Wade survivors include two sons, Charles Wade III of Cairo, Illinois, and James Wade (Linda) of Benton; one daughter Lisa Vetter (Randy) of New Hamburg; one sister, Wilma Cox of Carlisle, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Jeremy Wade (Terra), Wendy Holt (Chris), Chris Vetter (Greta), and Justin Vetter (Kristina); also by ten great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded by one great-grandson Nick Holt.

Visitation will be held on Friday March 13, 2020 at the St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton from 9:00 until 11:00 A.M. Funeral mass will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 A.M. in the St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton with Father Bala Swamy Govindu as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Forrest Hills Cemetery with full military honors.
