Charles Dennis, son of the late Aubrey C. and Mary (White) Dennis was born on January 21, 1932 in Chaffee, Missouri and departed his life on Friday, February 23, 2024 at his residence in Festus, Missouri at the age of 92 years. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War and was a former Brick Layer with Local Union #1 in St. Louis, Missouri. Charles was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War in Crystal City, Missouri, Amvets Post 48 in Desoto, Missouri, and attended the First Baptist Church in Festus. On October 6, 1951 he was united in marriage to Betty Jane Eldridge in Piggot, Arkansas. Mrs. Dennis preceded him in death on April 16, 2018. Survivors include one daughter, Kelly Cofield (Jeff Thacker) of Festus; two sons, Andy Dennis of Park Hills and Brad (Gail) Dennis of Desoto; one sister, Marilyn Dohogne of Cape Girardeau; ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; also, by other relatives and friends. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Allen Dennis; son-in-law, Ray Cofield; one daughter-in-law, Roxanna Dennis; brother, Robert Dennis; five brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 1:00 until 2:00pm at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 2:00 pm in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bob Lewis as officiant. Interment will follow in the Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee with full military honors.
