Catherine Scherer

Catherine Mary Scherer, 87 of Kelso, Missouri died Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at The Arbors in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.   She was born June 15, 1935 in Oran, Missouri to Zeno and Rachel Vandermierden Seyer.  She married Harry Louis Scherer on September 25, 1954.  He preceded her in death on June 24, 1993.

She had been employed at HWI.  She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and Ladies Sodality.

She is survived by a daughter, Karla Wyatt of Desoto, Missouri; a brother, Marvin Seyer of Bolivar, Tennessee; three sisters, Wilma (Donnie) Heisserer of Scott City, Doris (Joe) Miller of Flint Hill, Missouri and Bernice Carrig of Arlington, Virginia; four grandchildren, Chuck Cowell, Justin Wyatt, Lacie Griffaw and Sheena Phipps; fifteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Donna Marie Meyer and Debbie Scherer; a granddaughter, Bethany Meyer and a brother.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.  Parish prayers will be at 6:30 pm.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Saturday at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso with Father Tom Wilk as celebrant.

Burial will be at St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Kelso.
