Carolyn Sue Shoemaker

Carolyn Shoemaker, daughter of the late Fred Propst and Carmen Laverne (Vance) Propst was born on April 29, 1952 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and departed her life on Friday, August 9, 2024 at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 72 years.

She was a former Secretary for Southeast Health Foundation and Manager of Lone Oak Apartments in Advance, Missouri. Mrs. Shoemaker was an accomplished piano player giving lessons for several years and playing for revivals and church gatherings all over southeast Missouri.  She was a member of the Hooe Baptist Church in Pop City, Missouri and a resident of Advance.

On December 26, 1969 she was united in marriage to Rev. Kenneth L. Shoemaker in Allenville, Missouri. Rev. Shoemaker survives of the home in Advance.

Besides her husband, survivors include four sons, Kenny Shoemaker, Joe (Theresa) Shoemaker, Justin Shoemaker, and Hunter Shoemaker; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; also, by other relatives and friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Propst.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 9:30 until 11:00 A.M. in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.  Funeral services will then be conducted at 11:00 AM with Pastor Alex Sims and Rev. Don Estes officiating.  Interment will follow in the Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson, Missouri.
