Carolyn L. Brown, 73 of Jackson, Missouri died Friday at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born September 3, 1948 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Clarence Melvin and Clara Wylder Cook. She married Danny Ray Brown on December 1, 1978 in Scott City, Missouri. Mr. Brown survives of the home in Jackson, Missouri.
She was an LPN for Mid-Town Clinic in Cape Girardeau. Mrs. Brown was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church in Scott City, of the V.F.W. in Scott City where she loved to play Bingo and cook for all of those who participated. Carolyn was a very loving wife, mother, and friends to all.
She is survived by her husband, by two sons, Scott Huey of Scott City and Greg (Marcie) Brown of Jackson; a daughter, Jennifer (Matthew) Monroe of Jackson; four brothers, M.G. (Sandi) Cook, Allen (Debby) Cook, Freddie (Barbara) Cook and Eddie (Nancy) Cook and three grandchildren, Jordan Monroe, Seth Monroe, and Lanie Brown all of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Norman Cook, Tommy Cook and Bill Cook and a sister, Laura Frances Stone; and one grandson, Matthew Tod Monroe Jr.
Visitation will be from 4:00pm – 7:00 pm on Monday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ron Stone officiating. Interment will follow in the Lightner Cemetery.
