Brenda Davis

Brenda Davis, daughter of the late Bennie Brown and Nora Francis Brown was born on June 5, 1946 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and departed her life on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri at the age of 78 years.

She was a former taxi driver for Yellow Cab in Sikeston, Missouri for several years, later in life she was an in-home health care aide and worked at several retail stores in the community. Mrs. Davis was of the Baptist faith and a resident of Sikeston.

She was united in marriage to Doyel Eugene Starr. Mr. Starr preceded her in death on March 8, 1995. She was then united in marriage to Dennie Davis and he preceded her in death on July 7, 2020.

Survivors include two daughters, Sheila Farmer and Jamie (Ron) Bratcher both of Sikeston; five grandchildren, Heather (Wesley) Martin, Timmy (Lindsey) Hart, Jeffrey Gunter II, Charles Blissett, and Chris (Raven) Blissett; six great-grandchildren; also, by other relatives and friends.

Besides her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death one son, Jeffrey Gunter; one granddaughter, Jamie Hubbard; two brothers, Dewayne Brown and Gary Brown.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025 from noon until 2:00 PM at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Funeral services will then be conducted at 2:00 P.M. in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow the Lightner Memorial Cemetery in Scott City.
