Bobby Moore

Bobby Gene Moore, 82 of Scott City died Sunday, May 9, 2021, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born March 19, 1939, to Harold B. and Dula Mai Ray Moore Sr.

He married Mary Bell Moore, daughter of the late Ned and June Moore, in Cape Girardeau.

He was a conductor for 36 years for the Cotton Belt, Southern Pacific and Union Pacific railroads and worked for 18 years for Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel. He was a member of the United Trainmen’s Union and was its secretary-treasurer for many years.

He was veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Bobby enjoyed traveling out west, especially in Arizona and Nevada. The desert held a special attraction to him. He also liked reading and trips to any casino.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Bell Moore of Scott City; a daughter, Krystal Rae Moore of Scott City; he was “Pappy” to Kacey Rae (Daniel) Lance and Hanna Nicole Moore, who he spoiled beyond means; the light of his life was his great-grandchildren, Blakeley Rae Lance, Bostyn Jade Lance and Hayden Madeline Walker.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Matthew Moore; four brothers, Harold B. Moore Jr., David Moore, Billy Moore and John Moore; and sister, Barbara Dempsey.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scot City.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel with the Rev. Tommy Miller officiating.

Burial Will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City
