Billy Davis

Billy Edward Davis, 90 of Sedgewickville, Missouri formerly of Scott City died Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was born June 15, 1931 in Steele, Missouri to Herman and Lorene Russom Davis. He married Adajane Schlenker on July 18, 1953. She preceded him in death on December 19, 2014. He worked for the Marquette Cement Company for 30 years, retiring in 1984. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, serving during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by a daughter, Dixie (Danny) Thompson of Sedgewickville; a grandson, Brent (Amber) Whittington; two granddaughters, Morgan and Sierra Thompson; two sisters Joan (Jim) Pell and Gloria (Ralph) Berringer of Scott City and eleven great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a great grandson. Visitation will be from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on Monday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Monday at the chapel with Brother Jim Collins officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City with full military honors.
