In Loving Memory of Billie Jean Baker
With her family by her side, Billie Jean Baker of Benton, MO died peacefully in her home on September 11, 2024.
Formerly known as “Jeanie Harris”, a graduate of Cape Central High School, class of 1964.
Having lived several years in west Tennessee, she retired from Charms Co. in Covington, TN in 2009 and returned to southeast Missouri.
Preceded in death by both her parents, Raymond and Loretta Harris of Benton, MO.One sister Betty Lee Hency of Cape Girardeau, MO. Her son Billy Dale Chapman Jr of Benton, MO. One grandson Joshua Irby Sherrill of Caruthersville, MO. And one niece Becky Davis of Sikeston, MO.
Surviving her in death are her 2 daughters Laurie Ann Chapman (Carlton Sherrill Jr.) of Benton, MO and Janell Lynn Sinquefield (Troy) of Covington, TN. Two sisters Delores Koch (Robert) and Linda Hyde both of Cape Girardeau, MO. One step sister Sharon Washer of Benton, MO. And two step brothers Bruce Turner (Emma Alleman) of Illinois and Mike Turner of Sikeston, MO.
She has four grandchildren Trey Sherrill (Shawna) and Christopher Murphy (Gabby) of Brighton, TN. Katie Chapman of Oakland, TN. And Justin Sherrill (Deveeda) of Caruthersville, MO.
A loving great grandmother to 9 great grandsons. Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
She leaves behind her faithful companion Gretchen Ray, her miniature schnauzer, who never left her side.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held in her honor on September 28 from 1:00 until 4:00PM at the Unity Baptist Church 4846 MO77, Benton, Missouri 63736. Friends and family are welcome to attend.
