Barbara Daniel

Barbara Daniel, daughter of the late Charles Smith and Ora Traylor Smith was born on May 8, 1935 at Des Arc, Arkansas and departed this life at her daughters residence in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at the age of 85 .

Mrs. Daniel was a loving housewife, member of the LynWood Baptist Church, and a former member of Commerce Baptist Church. In her later years, Barbara was known as “The Cake Lady” at River Ridge Winery where she formed many friendships.

On June 1, 1953 she was united in marriage to Huey Bernard Daniel in Winter Haven, Florida. Mr. Daniel preceded her in death in 2008.

Survivors include one son, David Daniel (JulieAnn) of Scott City; by two daughters, Becky Ledbetter (Clyde) of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Cynthia Milam of Benton; six grandchildren, Robert Milam (Mary Beth) of Benton, Amber Stuppy (Jerry) of Jackson, Ginger Earnest (Randy) of Jackson, Danielle Littlepage (Nathan) of Winter Haven, Florida, Matthew Simms of Benton, and Shawn Daniel (Shannon) of Peachtree City, Georgia; also by fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, May 22, 2020 for private family only at the Oakdale Cemetery in Commerce, Missouri with Rev. David Thompson officiating. Interment will follow. Memorial service will be held at a later date. Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City in charge of arrangements.
