Harold Kielhofner

Andrew Harold Kielhofner, 93, of Oran, Missouri passed away at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis on October 2, 2019.

Harold was born October 9, 1925 in Chaffee, Missouri to the late Andrew and Regina (Halter) Kielhofner. He married Luella Mary Hamm on April 10, 1948, and she survives in Cape Girardeau.

Harold was a self-employed farmer for over 40 years and retired in 1989. He was a very active member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee. He was a member of the St. Ambrose Men’s Club and the Oran Knights of Columbus Council #4311. Harold voluntarily cared for the St. Ambrose Cemetery for 25 years. He was an avid gardener, loved playing cards, hunting and fishing. He served in the Merchant Marines for 2 years during WWII.

He is survived by his loving wife, Luella of Cape Girardeau; four daughters, Andrea (Bob) Sachse of Cape Girardeau; Connie (Ken) Newton of St. Joseph, Missouri; Dr. Marcia Kielhofner (Ed Hudson) of Sugarland, Texas; Gail (Tim) Smith of Hillsboro, Misouri; a daughter-in-law, Dr. Renee Taylor of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin; a sister, Mary Radake of St. Louis, Missouri; seventeen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Dr. Gary Kielhofner, his parents and two sisters.

Friends may call after 5:00 pm on Friday, October 4 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Parish prayers will be at 7:00 pm followed by a KC prayer service.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, October 5 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee with Rev. Randy Tochtrop as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery in Chaffee with full military rights.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: St. Ambrose Catholic Church or Alzheimer’s Association.
