Amonell Mary Welter

Amonell Welter, daughter of the late August Martin and Pauline Elizabeth (Schwach) Martin was born on May 2, 1925 in Blomeyer, Missouri and departed this life, surrounded by her daughters on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at her residence in Jackson, Missouri at the age of 98 years.

She was a homemaker, a previous (over 50 year) member of the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, Missouri where she served on the St. Ann Sodality organization.  Amonell was a Woman of the Year for the KCettes and worked at all of the Oran Fourth of July picnics.  She became a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson, Missouri in 2013 after her move to be closer to family.

On July 3, 1948 she was united in marriage to Elmer J. Welter.  They had almost made it to their 50th anniversary when he preceded her in death on February 24, 1998.

Survivors include three daughters, Janell (Ennis Wm, II) Hinkebein of Jackson, Missouri, Janay Berry of Jackson, Missouri, and Janice (Jeff) Noser of St. Louis, Missouri; nine grandchildren:  Shawn Hinkebein, Casey Hinkebein, Karly Hinkebein, Lance (Amanda) Berry, Logan Berry, Lindsay Berry, Amy (Jonny) Higgins, Sarah Noser, Rachel Noser, and by five great-grandchildren:  Deo Hinkebein, Jude Hinkebein, Cael Berry, Sam Berry and Gemma Higgins; also, by a host of other relatives and friends.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Dora Dirnberger and two brothers, Ben Martin and Edward (Bud) Martin.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.  Parish Prayers will begin at 4 pm and the Holy Rosary at 7 pm.  The Rosary will be followed by a “Remembering Mom with Gratitude” presentation.  Eucharistic Celebration will be conducted on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. in the Guardian Angel Catholic Church with Father Joseph Kelly presiding and Father Randolph Tochtrop concelebrating.  Interment will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery.

The family would especially like to thank the staff of Southeast Hospice including Bob, Brett, Erin, Ginger, Jessica, Lisa, Monica, Pam and Teresa for their kind and compassionate care the last seven months.  We are also grateful to Father Randolph Tochtrop and Kenny Loos for bringing the precious gift of the Holy Eucharist to Mom every Thursday.
